Seattle Chiropractor – Football Players Can Improve Their Game with Regular Chiropractic Care

Seattle chiropractor Dr. Justin Favreau can help football players perform at their peak with chiropractic care

Seattle Chiropractor - Sporty Injury and Football Injury ExpertsIf it’s fall, it must be the start of the football season. Whether you’re a professional athlete, a college player, or suiting up for high school ball in Seattle, you’ll be taking some hard knocks over the coming weeks.

Consider chiropractic care to keep you fit, and diminish pain and discomfort, as well as improve mobility, flexibility and strength.

A 2010 study compared two groups of Australian football players. Fifty-seven athletes received conventional medical and management care. Twenty-eight of those also received chiropractic care. The results showed a significant difference among those who received chiropractic care when it came to lower limb injury prevention, lower limb muscle strains and weeks missed due to non-contact knee injuries.

All 32 NFL teams have a chiropractor on staff, as do most college teams. Virginia Tech’s Mike Gentry, assistant athletic director for athletic performance, has given chiropractic credit for keeping his athletes fit. “I see chiropractic as having two functions,” he said in 2012. “It helps our athletes return to competition faster if they have sustained some injuries, and… it keeps our athletes more mobile and flexible and feeling better.”

Football is among the most physically grueling of sports. The hits that occur during the course of play lead to strains, sprains, and serious trauma. They also stress the spine, causing misalignments of the vertebrae that interfere with nerve energy flowing through the spinal cord and out to the limbs, muscles and organs of the body. The body, after all, is a finely balanced system. If the vertebrae are shoved out of place, they react much like a kink in a hose or a car whose wheels are out of alignment. Quite simply, your body can’t function at its peak.

At the Stability Health Center in downtown Seattle, Dr. Justin Favreau uses Chiropractic BioPhysics (CBP) to adjust your body back to health. The goal of CBP – the most scientific, researched and results-oriented corrective chiropractic technique – is to alleviate spinal misalignments and restore spinal health so your body can function properly. Chiropractic can also improve strength, increase range of motion and promote mobility for both professional athletes and weekend warriors.

Dr. Favreau is among a small percentage of dedicated and highly educated chiropractors certified to practice this technique. If you live in Seattle and want to find out whether you’re a candidate for CBP, please make an appointment at Stability Health Center for a free initial consultation.
